The maths, in full. The task's cost a year = people × hours each per week × 52 × loaded rate, plus error-fixing hours × 12 × the same rate. Saved = that cost × the removal share you set. Payback = the catalogue price ÷ monthly saving. It leaves out the cost of learning a new tool in week one, and it assumes the freed hours go somewhere useful — both cut the other way, which is why the removal slider starts at zero and stops at 90.
